New Pie & Inks

Here's a few new Pie & Ink's I have made over the last few weeks. I am really enjoying the challenge of producing these and am finding myself becoming fasted and more confident about the colour and content I use for each piece. It's a great exercise. Here's hoping that one day I'll have enough to fill a book!

Pie & Ink

Pie & Ink is a illustrated recipe blog I started recently to share foods I have made and loved. It is also a great opportunity to build on my food illustration portfolio. At the moment I am attempting to post every week or two so keep your eyes peeled for more!

My birdbox for the Drawn in Bristol Summer show

I thought I would share my painted bird box for the drawn in Bristol Holiday Homes Summer show.
I decided to go with the theme of stationary for my box. Be sure to go check out the show at Number 1 Harborside next Thursday. I can wait to see all 30 pieces together!

Illustrations for Kit Magazine

I was asked by Kit magazine to produce some Illustrations for their June online lifestyle & fashion publication. It was a really fun project, I particularly loves doing the foodie images! Expect to see many more of those in the future!

Illustration for a review of the new east London restaurant, Bones.

Illustration for a article about The Attendant a cafe residing in a former Victorian mens toilet.

Illustration for a review of The Stylist's Rail, a regular wardrobe sale of clothing from a collection stylists to vintage aficionados.

Illustration for a article about Pink Parcel, a once a month postal service that sends you the essentials, and a few treats, during a ladies time of the month.

A new pattern on wedding stationary

I seem to be churning out the patterns lately! For some reason I find it incredibly relaxing making a new pattern fit together and then applying it (or elements of it) to a context is really satisfying. I think the elements work well on wedding stationary borders.

New patterns on products

Here are a few new pattern designs I have been working on over the last week. I also used the PSD Covers actions to apply my designs to products to see how they might look. If you haven't used PSD Covers before I suggest you give them a try. They are free, simple to use and look great. It's always fun to visualise your designs on a product!

Uppercase Spring Issue 21#

Happy Easter everybody! I think at this point in the evening most of us are feeling that perhaps we had a few mini eggs to many and it's now time to veg out on the sofa.

I got my hands on the spring issue of Uppercase today and thought I would share a peek at my patterns (3rd row from the left). The other patterns selected to feature in the special surface pattern guide were of a very high standard so I am very honored to have had mine chosen. I was pleased to see the pieces Uppercase chose of the 6 I submitted, the food labels, cacti and breakfast patterns. I am going to write a bit more about this issue on Onefoundseven in the next few days so keep an eye out for that too!
