Palm Wall Sketch

Here is another sketch I did last week. I call it a sketch but I always seem to get a bit carried away with the details & pattern. Nether the less it's been fun loosening up a little and not being afraid to share my rougher pieces. I know personally that I find it really interesting seeing rough/preliminary work. I'm feeling a bit more confident about my figurative Illustrations and am really enjoying making them now.

A little peek at my work in No.1 The Harbourside

 I was approached by No.1 The Harbourside a few weeks ago asking if I could supply some pieces for their walls. It's been a while since I exhibited any new work so it seemed like a nice opportunity. I have taken a few pics so far but don't want to interrupt peoples coffee drinking so will have to pick a time that's quiet to go back as get some more. If you're near by pop in and take a peek. All pieces are for sale.

 I really like the feel of No.1, it's got a fun, laid back interior with a great selection of canapes, cupcake & cocktails.

People Practise

I have spent the last couple of days working on my figurative drawings. It's not an area I feel especially strong in and I want to get better at. I've been having a lot of fun with it and it's great to loosen up now and again and just doodle regardless of the outcome. It's an important part of the creative process.

Holiday Lunch

Dreaming of holidays this past few days. Been flicking through Pinterest boards checking out beautiful places, super procrastination! I decided it might be better to channel my holiday feeling
into an Illustration instead. I am enjoying working on more figurative and scenic pieces of late, I
intend to do a lot more of these in the next few months.

New business card designs

 I have just mocked up some new business card designs. I don't think they are quite there yet but I thought I would share them anyway. Going to have to play around with them a bit more before I commit to printing a large amount of them. It's tricky picking something to represent your work in one image! I am leaning more towards the one with flowers around the edge. Hope you're having a lovely Wednesday : )

Gardening Lady

Blissfully tending to her plants from the window. I am really looking forward to spring now which has inspired a new Illustration. I am really enjoying working with gouache. It is great to use and gives a wonderful vibrant colour.

Labels, Labels, Labels

It has to be said that I am rather partial to great packaging, I'm pretty unable to resist packaging with beautiful design such as Clipper tea and M&S biscuit tins (I'm breaking into the party bus shortbread as I type) Further evidence of this slight obsession can be found on Free Flavour which I co created with James Gibbs.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you some label patterns I have been working on lately. I seem to be going through a bit of a pattern phase too!
