Just came across these wonderful plate by Lou Rota, a graphic artists who combined her designs with ceramics. Very effective and also rather random in her floral, insect and avian matchings

Myoo Editorial

I worked on an Illustration last week for Myoo, A website concerned with protecting our planet. The Illustration went online today for an article about the american government putting more funding into green energy funding. Have a little look here.

I love the dream like polaroids for the Geronimo spring 2012 collection. Clothes are rather lovely too! There is a nice simplicity in their style and cuts.

Re-sorting

I have decided to completely re-do my portfolio. Not because its January, because I have recently had a change of work which means I will be able to start taking my freelance work a lot more seriously and will have more time to do it in : ) I have also been editing my large pieces into various smaller ones which look quite effective with more white space.

Bits and bobs from the weekend

Had a wonderful weekend with friends and celebrating Bills birthday on saturday night. Made him some skull/funny bones-esque cupcakes. Also a recent charity shop find is this mini crockery set which is now sitting in my house shelf : ) Photos taken by Lucy 

Lizbeth Zwerger

I was recently shown the work of Lizbeth Zwerger, an illustrator from Vienna. I'm surprised I never came across it before. I love the traditional yet fresh approach she uses in her work, which is both classic and timeless. Her colour palette is a striking mix of white space, pastel and bold pops of colour. Very inspirational

Dear Photograph

Just came across this wonderful little blog that documents people re-visiting past moments with the placement of a photograph in front of its setting. Underneath each image is a note about it, some heart wrenching as well as warming and nostalgic.

Home Studio

I did this drawing a while ago and just came across it. Kinda dolls house style containing various items from my previous bedroom turned into a studio. Can't remember quite what the giant egg on the shelf was about but hey-ho!

Some new patterns to add to my collection that I hope to get printed into swatches towards the end of the month. I'm quite enjoying keeping them rather clean and simple. In contrast to the detail in my drawings.
